2. Tris Speaker, OF (1916-26)
Speaker is one of multiple legendary hitters on this list who led the big leagues in numerous single-season statistical categories several times while in Cleveland, including hits, doubles, batting average and on-base percentage. Speaker, who earned MVP honors in 1912 with the Boston Red Sox, was a player and manager for Cleveland who still holds the MLB record for career doubles with 792. The outfielder is also among the franchise leaders in many other statistical categories, ranking fifth in RBIs (884), second in runs (1,078), hits (1,965) and batting average (.354), and first in on-base percentage (.444). Speaker, a member of both the Red Sox Hall of Fame and Guardians Hall of Fame, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937.
