Top 10 freshman NCAA softball players of the 2025 season
5. Rylee McCoy, IF, Oregon
McCoy has missed a couple of games for Oregon recently, but that has not diminished the impressive freshman campaign she is enjoying. McCoy, a highly touted freshman from Oaks Christian School in California, has been a catalyst for the Ducks鈥 offense alongside talented senior Kedre Luschar, hitting .453 this season. The 5-foot-8 infielder also has nine home runs 鈥 ranking 17th in the country 鈥 20 RBIs and 55 total bases. Her 1.038 slugging percentage is the sixth-best in the nation, while she also has an impressive 1.546 OPS. Oregon has looked like the best team in the Big Ten through the first month or so of the 2025 season, and the 24-2 Ducks should remain the favorite to win a conference championship behind their star freshman.
