Top 10 freshman NCAA softball players of the 2025 season
8. Audrey Lowry, LHP, Oklahoma
Similar to other freshman pitchers across the country who play for some of the top teams in college softball, Lowry hasn’t faced a big workload just yet. However, she has already showcased her talent and could play a big role down the stretch as top-ranked Oklahoma aims for a fifth straight national championship. The Sooners are off to a perfect 22-0 start and are loaded with stars again, particularly within their pitching staff featuring Kierston Deal and Sam Landry. Lowry has seen three starts behind those two and eight appearances overall, going 5-0 with a 2.02 ERA and a team-best 0.72 WHIP. Opponents have hit just .180 against Lowry across her 27 ⅔ innings of work, and her 13.5 strikeout-to-walk ratio is tied for the fourth-best mark in the country with her teammate, Landry.
True freshman Audrey Lowry made her OU debut last night in a huge spot.
Tie game in the bottom of the 6th with two on and two outs. She got a strikeout.
Lowry then pitched the 7th, 8th and 9th and didn’t allow a hit.
Incredible debut. Big time stuff.
