Top 10 Texas high school baseball players in Class of 2025
5. Xavier Mitchell, LHP, Prestonwood Christian
Mitchell is a terrific athlete with a bright future on the mound as one of several talented left-handed pitchers in Texas’ senior class. Last season, Mitchell went 9-0 with a 1.32 ERA for a Prestonwood Christian squad that won 27 games. The 6-foot-4, 175-pound senior followed that up with a strong summer playing for the North Texas Longhorns and competing with USA Baseball where he threw a combined no-hitter alongside fellow Lone Star State standout Nicholas Partida. Mitchell has a strong fastball that reaches the low 90s to pair with a good changeup and curveball. The Prestonwood Christian star only seems to keep getting better and is poised for a strong senior season before potentially heading south to Austin to play for the Texas Longhorns.
Solid start to the season for Xavier Mitchell () in front of . The LHP punched out 6 through 4 innings of shutout ball, only allowing 2 hits. Athletic on the mound, hides the ball well, and works a good 3-pitch mix.
