2. Mike Vrabel, New England Patriots
It was somewhat surprising that Robert Kraft and the Patriots cut ties with Jerod Mayo after one season, but they couldn鈥檛 have done much better than hiring Vrabel. The 49-year-old was a former All-Pro linebacker in New England during his playing days who won three Super Bowl titles. He later became a defensive assistant with the Houston Texans before serving as the Tennessee Titans鈥� head coach from 2018-23. Vrabel often exceeded expectations in Tennessee, winning two division titles, reaching the AFC championship game and earning 2021 NFL Coach of the Year honors. Vrabel鈥檚 experience is hard to match and his familiarity with the organization will continue the 鈥淧atriot way鈥� that sparked a dynasty under Bill Belichick. Adding Josh McDaniels to his staff to work with promising young quarterback Drake Maye is also a big win.
