Ranking the 7 NFL head coach hirings of the 2025 offseason
1. Ben Johnson, Chicago Bears
Johnson doesn鈥檛 have the same head-coaching experience as someone like Vrabel, but he ultimately possesses the greatest ceiling among coaches hired during this cycle. That doesn鈥檛 mean that he鈥檚 a sure thing, but the Bears have finally hired the coach who many within their fanbase and around the organization wanted. Johnson was the Lions鈥� offensive coordinator for the last three seasons and served as an offensive assistant in Detroit since 2019. His units evolved into some of the best in the NFL while Jared Goff played the best football of his career. The hope is that Johnson can similarly develop Caleb Williams after an up-and-down rookie season. Chicago still needs to add to its offensive line, but Johnson has a lot of weapons to work with and could prove to be a home-run hire if his system fits well in the Windy City.
