7. Kinder鈥檚 Texas Bowl: Baylor vs. LSU
Baylor and LSU will square off in the Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium in Houston on New Year鈥檚 Eve in a game featuring a pair of 8-4 squads. The two programs have not played since the 1985 Liberty Bowl, a game won by Baylor, but have matched up 11 times overall with LSU winning eight contests.
The Tigers are a slight favorite to earn win No. 9 over the Bears, but Baylor might enter the contest with more momentum as winners of six in a row to close the regular season following a 2-4 start. Baylor鈥檚 defense has been up and down, but the Bears鈥� offense has found its footing and ranks 27th in the country behind quarterback Sawyer Robertson. LSU鈥檚 year went in the opposite direction as the Tigers lost three in a row following a 6-1 start to derail their playoff hopes. They should still give Baylor a good test in Houston though with a similarly potent offensive attack featuring Garrett Nussmeier, Kyren Lacy and Caden Durham.
