Maalik Murphy transferring: 5 possible landing spots
Florida State Seminoles
Florida State needs to make a splash or two this offseason following an incredibly difficult 2-10 campaign, the least wins seen in a single season in Tallahassee in a half-century. Poor quarterback play was one of the Seminoles’ downfalls in 2024, particularly after starter DJ Uiagalelei got hurt, as they ranked 115th out of 133 FBS teams in passing offense. Uiagalelei is out of eligibility while four-star freshman Luke Kromenhoek recently entered the transfer portal. That will likely leave Brock Glenn and incoming freshman Kevin Sperry in Mike Norvell’s quarterback room, so landing a starting-caliber signal caller in the portal could be a necessity. Murphy struggled in Duke’s win over FSU in mid-October, but his season-long performance proves that he would be a major addition to a program needing an infusion of talent.
