Maalik Murphy transferring: 5 possible landing spots
Miami Hurricanes
Miami also got a first-hand look at Murphy this season as he threw for 325 yards and three touchdowns against the Hurricanes in early November. The Canes offered Murphy coming out of high school as well, so familiarity exists between the transfer quarterback and the program. Miami has had a breakthrough season in Mario Cristobal鈥檚 third year, going 10-2 while narrowly missing an ACC championship appearance and potentially a College Football Playoff berth. The success has been led by transfer quarterback Cam Ward who has thrown for over 4,000 yards and is a Heisman finalist. The opportunity to work alongside Cristobal and offensive Shannon Dawson could be enticing for Murphy after seeing what Ward did. Murphy also has a similarly big arm like Ward and could create a seamless transition to a new quarterback in Coral Gables.
