Top 10 Big Ten basketball players for the 2024-25 season
7. Jackson Shelstad, G, Oregon
Shelstad is a newcomer to the conference with Oregon playing its first Big Ten season on the hardwood, and the sophomore brings some high expectations with him after a strong freshman season in Eugene. Shelstad will have an opportunity to emerge as the Ducks’ top player in 2024-25 with N’Faly Dante and Jermaine Cousinard gone. Playing alongside those two last season, Shelstad made 30 starts and averaged 12.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists. The 6-foot, 170-pound sophomore shot a solid 45% from the field and 34.5% from 3-point range. Shelstad struggled a bit in the NCAA Tournament to close the campaign but has a smooth game that should only get better with more experience. He’ll play a big role in Oregon potentially contending for a Big Ten title this season.
