Top 10 Texas QBs for 2024 high school football season
7. Jett Surratt, Jr., Carthage
Surratt got his first taste of success at Carthage as the Bulldogs won their ninth state title in 2022. Despite falling short of No. 10 last fall, Carthage got a breakout season from Surratt which has it poised to remain in state title contention in 2024. Last season, Surratt threw for 3,807 yards, 46 touchdowns and nine interceptions, completing 67.4% of his passes. Surratt, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound three-star recruit in the Class of 2026, was named district MVP and second-team all-state at the 4A level following his breakout campaign while playing for his father, nine-time state championship-winning head coach Scott Surratt. Jett has a bright future ahead and his upside on the gridiron has not gone unnoticed as he already has multiple D-I offers from schools like Houston and Texas Tech.
