Ranking each Big 12 starting QB for the 2024 football season
5. KJ Jefferson, UCF
Jefferson brings a wealth of experience to UCF which could make the Knights more competitive in their second season in the Big 12. Jefferson spent the last five seasons playing in the SEC at Arkansas and has been a starter for the past three years, throwing for over 2,600 yards in 2021 and 2022 before a 2,100-yard season last year where he completed 64.2% of his passes. Jefferson also has 67 passing touchdowns already in his collegiate career and has done a nice job taking care of the football overall. The big 6-foot-3, 250-pound senior is more than capable as a runner as well, rushing for 447 yards last season and over 600 yards each of the two seasons prior. Gus Malzhan鈥檚 offense should suit Jefferson well and he could be in line for a career year in his final season at the collegiate level.
