Ranking each Big 12 starting QB for the 2024 football season
4. Jalon Daniels, Kansas
Daniels may have as much upside as any quarterback on this list but needs to stay healthy for the emerging Jayhawks to have a chance of winning a Big 12 title. Kansas has excelled early in the Lance Leipold era and part of the reason has been the play of Daniels, particularly in 2022 when he threw for over 2,000 yards, 18 touchdowns and just four interceptions while completing 66.1% of his passes. He also ran for 419 yards and seven scores that season. The 6-foot, 220-pound standout looked poised for a breakout last year but only played in three September games before missing the rest of the season due to injury, totaling 705 passing yards and five scores. The injuries make it hard to trust Daniels, but he has unlimited potential if he can stay healthy in 2024.
