3. Cameron Rising, Utah
Rising will be making one of the more highly-anticipated returns of the 2024 season after missing all of 2023 due to a knee injury he suffered in the Rose Bowl the season prior. It appeared Rising would return at some point last year, but it never happened and Utah鈥檚 offense often struggled. Things should change for Kyle Whittingham this year with Rising back in the fold who looked like an NFL-caliber quarterback before his injury. In 2022, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound standout threw for 3,034 yards, 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing nearly 65% of his passes. Rising was also a threat on the ground, rushing for over 400 yards and six scores in both 2021 and 2022. How the seventh-year QB comes back from injury will be key, but if he returns to his 2022 form, Utah could contend for a conference title.
