Ranking each Big Ten starting QB for the 2024 football season
6. Tyler Van Dyke, Wisconsin
Van Dyke is one of several experienced transfer quarterbacks who will suit up in the Big Ten this year and should provide Wisconsin with a reliable arm under center similar to what it had last season with Tanner Mordecai. Van Dyke burst onto the scene at Miami back in 2021 as he threw for 2,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and just six interceptions. The past two seasons weren鈥檛 quite as sharp, but he still threw for over 2,700 yards last year and completed a career-high 65.8% of his passes. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound quarterback isn鈥檛 exactly fleet of foot and he will need to cut down on his turnovers after throwing 12 picks last year. However, he possesses a lot of potential in Phil Longo鈥檚 Air Raid offense and will have some nice weapons to throw to in Madison.
