10 most impactful players for the 2024 College World Series
James Tibbs III, OF/1B, Florida State
Both Cam Smith and Tibbs III will be key in Florida State’s lineup in the College World Series. While Smith may ultimately be a little more consistent overall, Tibbs III’s power bat might hold the keys to the car when it comes to the Noles bringing home a title. While Florida State dominated UConn 24-4 in its first game of super regionals, Tibbs III’s impact was felt more in the Seminoles’ 10-8 extra-inning win over the Huskies in game two where the ACC Player of the Year had five hits, three home runs and six RBIs. The 6-foot, 205-pound junior has hit .374 on the year with 28 home runs and has the second-most RBIs in the country (94). Tibbs III is also seventh in the country with 191 total bases to go along with a 1.310 OPS as one of the most dangerous power hitters in college baseball.
