10 most impactful players for the 2024 College World Series
Alec Makarewicz, IF, NC State
NC State held serve in the Raleigh regional and was able to sneak past Georgia in super regionals to punch its ticket to the College World Series. A big reason for the Wolfpack鈥檚 postseason success and their 38-win season overall has been their talented 6-foot-2, 235-pound infielder, Makarewicz. On the season, the grad student has hit .380 with a .439 on-base percentage and a 1.183 OPS. Makarewicz has also racked up 22 home runs and 80 RBIs in addition to 95 hits and 186 total bases, both top-10 numbers in the country. Makarewicz was terrific in super regionals with a pair of multi-hit games and will need to maintain that level of success for NC State to make a run in Omaha.
