10 most impactful players for 2024 Women’s College World Series
Claire Davidson, OF, Duke
Duke has had an impressive season leading to the program’s first-ever College World Series appearance. That’s thanks in part to a talented pitching staff that features a trio of the country’s top hurlers – Jala Wright, Cassidy Curd and Lillie Walker – in addition to a potent lineup headlined by Aminah Vega and Davidson. Ultimately, Davidson will likely be the most important bat for the Blue Devils in Oklahoma City after a season where she has ranked near the top of all Division I hitters in several metrics. The 5-foot-9 senior’s .439 batting average is top 10 in the country as are her 67 RBIs and 153 total bases. Davidson has added 18 home runs with an impressive 1.420 OPS that includes the nation’s ninth-best on-base percentage (.536). She will need to be a catalyst early and often if Duke wants to end Oklahoma’s national title streak.
