Top 10 breakout candidates for the 2024 WNBA season
Maddy Siegrist, F, Dallas Wings
Siegrist entered the 2023 season with a lot of hype as she was selected third overall following a standout collegiate career at Villanova. The 6-foot-1 forward’s rookie season certainly didn’t live up to the billing as she played just over eight minutes per contest while averaging only six points, three rebounds and one assist. Still, there is a lot of upside in Siegrist’s game and perhaps the biggest thing working in her favor for a potential breakout in her second season are players ahead of her on the Wings’ depth chart who will be absent as Awak Kuier will sit out the season and Satou Sabally will be sidelined until the Olympic break. That should afford Siegrist the opportunity to find her confidence and scoring ability once again.
