Meechie Johnson transferring: 5 possible landing spots

There was some interest between Johnson and Michigan State during his recruiting process and the makeup of the Spartans鈥� current roster could draw the talented guard to East Lansing. Tom Izzo had a terrific veteran-laden backcourt in 2023-24 headlined by Tyson Walker and AJ Hoggard. However, Walker is out of eligibility which will be a big loss for the Spartans. Johnson could be a nice replacement for Walker and would add another veteran presence around Hoggard, Jaden Akins and Tre Holloman as the Spartans also wait on the development of Jeremy Fears Jr., and incoming freshmen Jase Richardson and Kur Teng. An opportunity to learn from one of college basketball鈥檚 top coaches and play relatively close to home could be hard to pass up for Johnson.
