Mike Boynton fired; 5 candidates for Oklahoma State head coach
Bryce Drew
A familiar name, Bryce Drew is the younger brother of Baylor鈥檚 head coach Scott Drew. Bryce has done a nice job as a head coach compiling a 91-31 career record with five NCAA Tournament appearances, six regular season conference titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances during stops at Valparaiso, Vanderbilt and most recently Grand Canyon. He has the potential to add another NCAA Tournament appearance this season if he can lead his Antelopes to a Western Athletic Conference tournament championship.
While Bryce has connections to the region thanks to his brother, he hasn鈥檛 actually coached much in the area, with the closest stop being Vanderbilt. His time with the Commodores didn鈥檛 go particularly well either as he finished with a 40-59 record and just one NCAA Tournament appearance in three years. Though Bryce has proven to be a great coach at the mid-major level, a program like Oklahoma State may be scared to hire him due to his lack of success during his lone high-major stop.
