3. Easton Barrett, LHP, Springville
Barrett has received high praise even before he heads off to play for Arizona State University.
His Perfect Game scouting report touts him as being a high-level two-way prospect. Prep Baseball Utah scouting director Jeff Scholzen compares the Springville senior to former major-league southpaw Scott Kazmir.
Prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery last spring, Barrett ranged between 90-94 miles per hour from the hill, with what Scholzen described as showing “the fluidity of a smooth, athletic, repeatable delivery.” Barrett will get a chance to showcase his skills in his final go-round with the Red Devils.
