Tops in the Prep Baseball Utah preseason rankings, Taylor has been clocked at 6.93 seconds in the 60-yard dash and measured at an 81-mile-per-hour velocity from behind the dish at Perfect Game events.
That same scouting service rates him as the second-best recruiting prospect in the crop and the best catcher of the bunch. As a junior at Olympus High School, Taylor had a .532 batting average with 44 RBIs, 33 runs scored, and 10 home runs.
Taylor is committed to continuing his career on the diamond at the University of Southern California.
