Davies’ pitch arsenal will be of good use to Arizona State at this time next year. He can fire the ball past batters or produce some movement to throw them off balance.
Prep Baseball Utah taps Davies with the highest breaking ball spin rate in the state’s class. His fastball clocks in anywhere between 89-94 miles per hour. While playing for Orem High School last spring, he pitched 35 innings, posting a 2.60 ERA and a 4-1 record in seven starts and a pair of relief appearances.
Perfect Game ranks Davies as the fourth-best recruit in the state.
