Top 10 Illinois HS baseball players in Class of 2024
4. Cole Crafton, OF, Lincoln-Way West
Lincoln-Way West has strung together a couple of good seasons thanks to a plethora of talented players headlined by Crafton. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound senior is a good athlete who has been the Warriors’ starting quarterback the last few years on the gridiron, but ultimately, Crafton is turning his attention to baseball going forward. Crafton is a versatile player who can play multiple positions in the field and has also pitched during his time with the Warriors, featuring a fastball that tops out around 90 mph. Perhaps the biggest strength for Crafton comes at the plate as he has good bat speed and a smooth swing from the left side which was seen throughout the summer, particularly at the Area Code Games. Crafton has a bright future ahead as he plans to play college baseball at Louisville.
