3. Chris Newstrom, SS/C, Chaparral
Newstrom has been a top prospect since his middle school days, racking up 16 All-Tournament team selections since 2018. Last season with the Firebirds, he hit .379 with 33 hits, 13 of which went for extra bases. While playing for the NY Mets Scout Team at the 2023 East 17U Ultimate Baseball Championship, Newstrom was named the tournament鈥檚 most valuable player. He鈥檚 also one of the fastest players in his class, running the 60-yard dash in 6.59 seconds. Chaparral fell one game short of a 5A semifinal appearance a season ago so Newstrom will look to get the Firebirds over the hump before playing college baseball at Tennessee.
