Top 10 California HS baseball players in Class of 2024
8. Mason Brassfield, LHP, Bakersfield Christian
Brassfield is a versatile two-way player who could have a future in the outfield or on the mound. Last season, Brassfield hit four home runs and had 28 RBIs for Bakersfield Christian as he led the Eagles to regionals. However, his performance on the mound was even more impressive as Brassfield earned South Yosemite Valley League Pitcher of the Year honors, going 9-1 with a 2.07 ERA and 145 strikeouts. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound southpaw has a fastball that touches the low to mid-90s and features a nice slider as well. Those pitches should drive his success going forward whether Brassfield heads straight to the professional level or decides to play in college at TCU.
