Ranking the Pac-12’s best basketball players at midway point
6. Fardaws Aimaq, F, Cal
Cal has struggled throughout the first half of the season, but the Golden Bears still feature some of the conference’s best players between guards Jaylon Tyson and Jalen Cone, and their talented 6-foot-11 forward, Aimaq. At the midway point of the conference season, Aimaq is the only Pac-12 player averaging a double-double with 15.3 points and 10.8 rebounds – grabbing the seventh most boards per game in the country. Aimaq also shoots an efficient 50% from the field and although he doesn’t take many 3-pointers, he has proven capable of stepping out and knocking down shots from beyond the arc. Also averaging nearly one block and steal, Aimaq’s presence on the defensive end for Cal has made him one of the league’s most complete big men in his first year in the Pac-12.
