Ranking the Pac-12’s best basketball players at midway point
7. Oumar Ballo, C, Arizona
Arizona is a deep team with players like Caleb Love, Kylan Boswell, Keshad Johnson and Pelle Larsson forming a dangerous lineup. Rounding out that starting five is the Wildcats’ 7-foot, 260-pound center, Ballo, and it could be argued he is the most important piece to a successful finish to the season for Arizona. Ballo’s scoring numbers are down just slightly from a year ago, but he still averages 12.3 points and nine rebounds while shooting a tidy 58.4% from the field. Although he’s not a huge shot-blocker, Ballo’s presence in the paint on the defensive end is also critical to the Wildcats’ success. Arizona has the potential to secure a conference championship and make a deep NCAA Tournament run if Ballo can continue to win in the paint on both ends of the court.
