EJ Warner enters transfer portal; 5 landing spots for QB
Nebraska
The connections between EJ and Nebraska run deep. EJ鈥檚 older brother Kade spent most of his college career with the Cornhuskers from 2017-20 so the younger Warner has an understanding of Lincoln and its football culture. Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule also has an intimate knowledge of the Temple program after spending nearly a decade of his coaching career with the Owls.
The Cornhuskers can use the help at quarterback as well. Last year鈥檚 transfer portal addition, Jeff Sims, fizzled in Lincoln and sophomore Heinrich Haarberg was solid but unspectacular as Nebraska鈥檚 starting quarterback, totaling 967 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns and seven interceptions with 477 rushing yards and five more scores. While Rhule may want to stand pat and see if Haarberg is the future or if Sims rebounds, adding a player of EJ鈥檚 caliber who has strong ties to the Cornhuskers program could be too enticing to pass up. For EJ, he would get the opportunity to lead the same Big Ten team his brother once played for, which could help him both with fan support and NIL deals.
