Top 10 Illinois boys basketball players in Class of 2024
3. Lathan Sommerville, C, Richwoods
Sommerville is one of a few towards the top of this list, and will look to prove why as he takes the floor at Richwoods High School for his senior season. The last two years, the Illinois native had been playing down in Georgia at the Skill Factory, and had a strong junior season in which he averaged 13.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. Somerville only continued to raise his stock with a good summer on the AAU circuit playing for Brad Beal Elite, having a particularly strong performance at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam. The 6-foot-10 center will play college basketball at Rutgers following his senior season, following in the footsteps of his dad, Marcellus, who played at Bradley in the mid 2000s.
