Top 10 Big Ten basketball players entering 2023-24 season
4. Boo Buie, G, Northwestern
There are several guys on this list who feel like they have been taking the court in the Big Ten for quite a while, and Buie is another one of them. The 6-foot-2 guard from New York is entering his fifth season playing for Chris Collins at Northwestern, and after some inconsistencies early in his Wildcats career, Buie put it all together last season to help his team make a surprise run to the NCAA Tournament. On the year, Buie averaged a career-best 17.4 points, as well as 3.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.1 steals. Buie was tremendous in Big Ten play, scoring 20 points or more on 12 occasions highlighted by a 35-point game against Illinois in February. While he could be more efficient from the field, Buie remains one of the best scorers in the conference, and could have Northwestern in the mix for an NCAA Tournament bid once again come March.
