Top 10 Big Ten basketball players entering 2023-24 season
5. Jahmir Young, G, Maryland
Young is one of a few guys in the top half of this list who transferred to the Big Ten within the past couple of years after beginning his college career at Charlotte. While playing for the 49ers, Young became an elite scorer, and that only continued in his first year in College Park last season. The 6-foot-1 guard was tremendous throughout the year for a surprise Maryland squad, averaging 15.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals. Young had nine games of 20 points or more, and reached a season-best 30 points in a January game against Ohio State. More of those kinds of games are likely for the senior guard in 2023-24 as he looks to lead a talented Terrapins squad to the top of the Big Ten.
