Top 10 Big Ten basketball players entering 2023-24 season
8. Clifford Omoruyi, C, Rutgers
If not for Zach Edey, Omoruyi would probably be the top center in the Big Ten. Nonetheless, he is still an invaluable piece for a Rutgers team looking to get back to the NCAA Tournament after falling just short last season. Omoruyi began his Rutgers career slowly as a freshman a couple of years ago, but developed into a full-time starter as a sophomore, and became a star on both ends of the court for the Scarlet Knights last year. Playing over 30 minutes a contest, Omoruyi averaged 13.2 points and 9.6 rebounds while also proving to be a force on the defensive end with 2.1 blocks per game. That included an impressive six-block game against Ohio State in January. There isn鈥檛 anything flashy about the 6-foot-11 center鈥檚 game, but he is one of the most physical players in the conference, and also one of the most irreplaceable.
