Top 10 Big Ten basketball players entering 2023-24 season
9. Keisei Tominaga, G, Nebraska
Casual fans might be surprised to see Tominaga in the top 10, but he proved to be arguably the Big Ten’s best scorer not named Zach Edey down the stretch last season. The native of Japan became a go-to player for Nebraska, averaging 17.3 points over the team’s last 15 games while shooting an impressive 42% from 3-point range during that stretch. A player who moves well without the ball and has a high catch-and-shoot percentage, Tominaga had 20 points or more in eight of the Cornhuskers’ final 12 games last year, averaging 13.1 points overall in 2022-23. Husker fans continue to wait for the next step forward under Fred Hoiberg, but if Tominaga – who did suffer an ankle injury in exhibition play – is healthy and replicates his late-season success, Nebraska could surprise behind arguably the best shooter in the Big Ten.
