Ranking the top 10 SEC players entering 2023-24 season
2. Tolu Smith, F, Mississippi State
Mississippi State surprised last season by making the NCAA Tournament and the Bulldogs will have a chance at doing so again in 2023-24 thanks to Smith. After spending his first season of college basketball at Western Kentucky, Smith has averaged double figures each of his last three seasons at Mississippi State. The 6-foot-11 senior forward is a dynamic scorer inside for the Bulldogs, and averaged career highs in points (15.7) and rebounds (8.5) last season while shooting over 57% from the field. Smith should continue to thrive in Chris Jans’ offense in Starkville and will likely be one of the most consistent players this season in the SEC.
