Ranking the top 10 SEC players entering 2023-24 season
1. Wade Taylor IV, G, Texas A&M
The SEC is full of talent this season, but Taylor IV stands at the top heading into the year. The 6-foot guard showed flashes of potential during his first year in College Station in 2021-22, but as a sophomore, he made a significant jump to become one of the best players in the conference. Last season, Taylor IV averaged 16.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists, shooting over 35% from 3-point range, and 87.8% from the free-throw line. While Taylor IV could be more efficient from the field overall, his scoring ability remains one of the best in the SEC. What also sets him apart, however, is his defense, evidenced by his 1.4 steals per game in his career. The Aggies should contend for an SEC title this season, especially if Taylor IV takes another leap forward.
