Ranking college football鈥檚 top 10 running backs so far in 2023
7. Bucky Irving, Oregon
Irving came into the 2023 season as one of the most talented backs in the country, and while his numbers are a little lower than some on this list, the eye test shows he remains one of the most lethal playmakers in all of college football. Irving has put up 393 rushing yards on 50 carries this season, averaging an impressive 7.9 yards per tote which ranks as the fourth-best in the nation. The 5-foot-10 junior from Chicago has consistently produced explosive runs including a 56-yard scamper against Portland State, one of four touchdowns he has had on the year. Oregon has the No. 6 rushing offense and No. 2 total offense in the country in part thanks to Irving who will look to help the Ducks build on their undefeated start to the season.
