8. Elijah Leonard, Sr., Lee鈥檚 Summit North
Another quarterback who played in a state championship, Leonard led his Broncos to a 12-2 record and an appearance in the Class 6A title game where they fell to McKey鈥檚 Cadets. Despite that heartbreaking loss, Leonard more than proved to be one of the state鈥檚 best signal callers as he threw for 1,245 yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for 475 yards and three more scores.
This play further established the 6-foot-4, 215-pound quarterback in recruiting circles as the 247 Sports鈥� picked up offers from FCS programs South Dakota and Lindenwood University. However, Leonard ultimately chose to stay in-state, committing to FCS Missouri State on July 11.
