Top 10 Missouri QBs for 2023 high school football season
9. Antwon McKay, Sr., Cardinal Ritter
It鈥檚 not easy for a quarterback to establish themselves on a statewide level, but it’s even harder to do that when the signal caller is splitting reps. However, that鈥檚 exactly what McKay did last season despite sharing duties with Carson Boyd. For his part, McKay threw for 1,654 yards, 16 touchdowns and just four interceptions helping lead the Lions to their first MSHSAA Class 3 state title.
While his playing arrangement may be a bit unorthodox, McKay has proven to be an elite player in his own right, attracting the attention of scouts. The 6-foot-3, 165-pound quarterback was given a two-star rating by and held offers from D-II Central Missouri and FCS University of Northern Iowa but ultimately committed to Western Illinois on June 28. With both Boyd and McKay staying at Cardinal Ritter, it will be interesting to see how much play each QB gets this fall.
