2. Mohamed Massaquoi, Independence (2001-04)
The most recognizable name on this list outside of the Tar Heel State, Massaquoi starred for the Patriots before making it to the NFL. During his time at Independence, Massaquoi recorded 274 catches, third most all time, 4,876 receiving yards, second most all time, and 76 touchdown receptions, second most all time. With his high school success, Massaquoi took his talents to Georgia.
Massaquoi starred for the Bulldogs, finishing his career with 158 catches, sixth-most in program history,聽 for 2,282 yards, seventh-most in program history, and 16 touchdowns, tied for eighth in program history. The wideout was taken with the No. 50 overall pick in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He went on to have a modest four-year career in the league, recording 118 catches for 1,745 yards and seven touchdowns.
