Top 10 all-time leading rushers in Indiana HS football
4. Otis Shannon, Indianapolis Cathedral (1997-2000)
A lot of good players have come through Cathedral High School over the years, but one of the best all time is Shannon. In 2000, Shannon not only won Indiana鈥檚 Mr. Football award, but also broke the Hoosier State鈥檚 career rushing record previously held by Brandon Robinson with 7,560 yards.
As talented as he was, Shannon was unfortunately not able to qualify academically for scholarships at most four-year schools. As a result, his collegiate career first led him to Harper Community College in Illinois before he later joined Western Kentucky. Following his time at the college level, the running back continued his football career in state with the Evansville BlueCats of the United Indoor Football Association.
Thank you to Mr. Indiana Football 2000 and 2001 Cathedral graduate Otis Shannon for sharing your love for Cathedral High School. Always great to see you, Otis Shannon!
