Top 10 all-time leading rushers in Indiana HS football
5. Jack Kiser, Pioneer (2016-18)
Kiser is best known today as a linebacker at Notre Dame who will suit up once again for the Fighting Irish in 2023 as a grad student. However, before his time in South Bend, he was a star on the gridiron playing both ways at Pioneer High School. The 2018 Mr. Football award winner led the Panthers to a 15-0 record and a second-consecutive state title in his senior year, passing for 1,183 yards and 18 touchdowns while rushing for 2,109 yards and another 44 scores. Kiser also recorded 159 tackles, seven interceptions and six forced fumbles on defense that season.
The senior campaign was part of a strong overall career with the Panthers for Kiser, which included over 400 tackles on defense, and 11,257 total yards on offense, including 7,364 rushing yards. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound four-star recruit committed to Notre Dame and has gotten better every year for the Fighting Irish, racking up 123 career tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and two interceptions – one of which was a 66-yard pick-six against the Wisconsin Badgers at Soldier Field in 2021.
