Top 10 all-time leading rushers in Virginia HS football
7. Elan Lewis, Phoebus (2001-04)
Another elite rusher and scorer in Virginia high school history, Lewis was a star for the Phoebus Phantoms. Lewis rushed for 7,156 yards during his high school career, the fourth-most at the time, and 96 touchdowns, which still ranks tied for ninth. As one of the top recruits in the nation, Lewis stayed close to home at Virginia Tech.
After redshirting as a freshman in 2005, Lewis suffered a knee injury in the spring of 2006 that sidelined him for most of the summer. While Lewis would play in eight games for the Hokies in 2006, he was a shell of himself as he rushed for just 47 yards and one touchdown on 28 attempts (1.7 yards per carry).
