An elite running back and linebacker during his time at Hazelwood East, Richard showcased impressive skills as a senior rushing for 1,009 yards and 12 touchdowns and recording 87 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions on defense. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound athlete committed to Michigan State.
Richard rushed for 654 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games as a true freshman for the Spartans in 2002. However, Richard transferred to Missouri after his freshman year and made the transition to linebacker with the Tigers. This didn鈥檛 work out for Richard or Mizzou however as the athlete only played in 11 total games across three seasons in Columbia.
