4. Ben McCollum
Perhaps the biggest dark horse on this list, McCollum has an incredibly impressive resume as head coach for D-II Northwest Missouri State. Over his 14 seasons as head coach of the Bearcats, McCollum has garnered a 365-86 record with four NCAA D-II national championships, including the first three-peat in NCAA D-II history, as well as five NABC D-II Coach of the Year Awards, the most ever.
While McCollum does not have any D-I coaching experience, his success speaks for itself. Add in the fact that West Virginia athletics director Wren Baker once served as the athletic director for Northwest Missouri State and the connections are there for McCollum to potentially break into the D-I level in Morgantown.
