10 most impactful college players to withdraw from NBA draft
2. Lamont Butler, G, SDSU
Another NCAA Tournament star, Butler eliminated FAU when he hit a game-winning jump shot at the buzzer of the Final Four contest between the Owls and Aztecs. Butler was a key cog to SDSU鈥檚 run to the national championship game as the junior averaged 8.8 points, 3.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds while starting 38 of the team鈥檚 39 games.
With an average of 1.5 steals, Butler was also a rock-solid defender who was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year by members of the media and third-team All-Mountain West and Mountain West all-defense by the conference鈥檚 coaches. As one of the more experienced returnees for a championship–caliber squad, Butler should be expected to once again lead the Aztecs back into the NCAA Tournament where he may have even more memorable moments in his career.
