10 best SEC softball players heading into the postseason
5. Ashley Rogers, RHP, Tennessee
There’s really only one word to describe Rogers’ season for Tennessee: dominant. The 5-foot-10 right-handed pitcher leads the SEC with an impressive 0.76 ERA, and has held opponents to a .119 batting average, also the best mark in the conference. Only allowing 12 runs all year, Rogers has struck out 149 batters, 55 of which have been looking, yet another SEC-best statistic. Although she hasn’t seen as much work as the likes of Montana Fouts and Maddie Penta, the Lady Vols grad student has put together an impressive 15-1 record, and helped Tennessee to an SEC regular season title. Now she will look to lead her team to a conference tournament title and Women’s College World Series berth.
