10 best SEC softball players heading into the postseason

6. Erin Coffel, IF, Kentucky

After breaking the Kentucky freshman home run record in her first year in Lexington, and becoming a first-team All-SEC player last season, it is no surprise Coffel has been one of the best in the conference in 2023. This season, the junior infielder has hit .434 – the third best average in the league – with a .973 slugging percentage that trails only Florida standout Skylar Wallace. The Indiana native has also produced plenty of power once again with 17 home runs, 51 RBIs and 56 runs scored, all of which are top-five marks in the conference. Coffel also has a great eye at the plate, leading the league by a wide margin with 62 walks, and as a result, also leads the SEC in on-base percentage (.634). Despite Kentucky being in the bottom half of the SEC standings, Coffel, along with catcher Kayla Kowalik, have been true stars for the Wildcats.
