3. Viviana Martinez, SS/2B, Texas
One of the strongest hitters in the league, Martinez holds a .353 batting average in 153 at-bats in 49 games. She has 54 hits, 40 RBIs, three home runs and only 12 strikeouts all season. Her 40 RBIs rank her fifth in the conference. An Arizona native, Martinez was ranked as the No. 1 infielder and No. 3 overall in Extra Inning Softball鈥檚 Class of 2022 Player Rankings as well as No. 7 overall in Softball America鈥檚 2022 Top 100 Recruiting Rankings. She was also tabbed by NCAA.com as one of its 鈥淭op 55 Freshman to Know鈥 entering the 2023 campaign.聽
Reese Atwood, Leighann Goode, Viviana Martinez and Ashton Maloney (a redshirt freshman who didn鈥檛 play at all in 2022) have accounted for 44.7 percent of Texas鈥 total bases this season.
